The ACT Storytellers Guild Inc seeks to encourage and promote
storytelling as an integral part of community life eg. in schools, clubs
and hostels for the aged.
As opportunities offer we try to encourage people of all ages and walks
of life to tell stories and develop their skills as storytellers.
We have practice sessions, story sessions, occasional workshops and
attend festivals and conferences. We produce handouts and booklists usually
in association with such workshops. Experienced tellers can assist
newcomers at these meetings with helpful guidance if needed.
We have a formal but flexible accreditation process.
Individual storytellers provide storytelling services in the community.
Details of programs and conditions are a matter for individual storytellers
and should be obtained direct from them. (see
directory).
